What can brands ask creators to do? +
Brands and creators agree on the deliverables before a campaign starts — post types (Reels, Shorts, TikToks, stories, long-form), posting frequency, brand guidelines (tone, do's & don'ts, FTC-style disclosures), and the ROAS target. Once locked in, the agreement is binding for the full campaign duration. Brands can request reasonable revisions but cannot change scope mid-campaign without creator consent.
How does Backed pay the creator if the brand pays nothing upfront? +
Backed parks the deposit in low-volatility preferential shares to generate a yield that funds the creator's retainer and the platform. The brand never funds the creator out of pocket — and the principal stays whole, refundable within 60 days of cancellation.
What counts as a "verified sale"? +
A webhook from your commerce provider (Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, etc.) marking an order as paid & non-refunded after the return window. Refunds rebate the bounty back to principal.
Can the brand cancel a campaign? +
Yes — brands can cancel at any time. The campaign terminates 30 days after the cancellation notice (so the creator has 30 days of advance warning), and any unspent budget returns within a further 30 days. Total: 60 days from cancellation to a full refund (minus paid commissions).
What happens if the campaign over-performs? +
The budget drains to zero at exactly target ROAS revenue. Every £1 of revenue beyond that is pure margin to the brand — Backed and the creator earn nothing further on the excess.
